Some Conjunctions and Their Usage
There are many conjunctions in English. Now I will explain it one by one.

Than
The function of THAN is to follow an adjective or adverb in the comparative degree.
Example:
  • Wisdom is better than riches.
  • He is wiser than I am.
  • I am smarter than you are.
Lest
Although it is rarely used, it can be categorized to conjunction. Lest can be used as a subordinating conjunction expressing a negative purpose. Lest has a similar meaning to ‘for fear that’. As I mentioned previously, lest is rarely used in English, even in modern English. It is important to know that the only auxiliary that can follow lest is should.
EXAMPLE
  • He fled lest he should be killed.
While
While is also one of conjunction. While has some meaning. While used to mean:
a) During the time that; as long as; as
  • While the sun is still rise, there is a hope.
  • While I was sleeping, my mother came in.
b) At the same time that
  • Synyster Gates played the guitar while I entered the concert room.
  • While you were playing guitar I was working.
c) Whereas
  • While I have no money to spend, you have nothing to spend on.
Only
Only is one of the conjunctions in English. Only means ‘except that’ or ‘but’.
Example:
  • The guitar had a nice sound, only it is expensive. (= The guitar had a nice sound, but it is expensive.)
Because, For and Since
Because, For, and Since can be used to refer to the reason for something. Since clauses often come at the beginning of sentences.
Example:
  • Since Jonathan had no money, he never come to the bar again.
A because-clause is less formal than a since-clause.
  • Because Jonathan was ill, he could not attend the class.
  • Since Jonathan was ill, he could not attend the class.
